About
Maple Montessori Children’s Center has been operating as a child care facility since 2002. We are located on the west side of Maple Ridge, in the historic neighbourhood of Port Hammond. We are in close proximity to major commuter arteries as well as the West Coast Express and the Golden Ears Bridge.
We offer both full day child care and half day preschool programs for children 30 months to 5 years.
Our facility has been purpose built for young children and is fully accessible. We offer bright playrooms with lots of natural light and direct access to a large outdoor play area. Our Port Hammond neighbourhood has many beautiful parks within easy walking distance from our school.
We are fortunate to have a great staff team of fully trained Early Childhood Educators with over 30 years experience. Maple Montessori also participates as a teaching facility welcoming ECE practicum students from community colleges throughout the year.
As early childhood educators, we strive to implement the practices that support our philosophy, and that demonstrate best practices as they are explained in the ECEBC Code of Ethics

Manager
I am the manager and team leader of Maple Montessori/Reggio children’s center. I hold a license to practice in Preschool education, Infant / Toddler education and Special Needs education. I have been actively working in a variety of ECE settings for over 30 years, with my most recent adventures including Strong Start and Family Resource centres. My passion for working with young children has been life long, and supporting
children’s attachment to their families helps me as an educator to see each child as whole, competent and unique. The primary task of an early educator is to provide an environment that is filled with unlimited possibilities – possibilities that encourage children to make discoveries, to experiment with their own ideas, and to interact in meaningful ways with other people I have made my home in Maple Ridge for over 20 years and share it with my awesome husband and our two teenage daughters who are he joy of our lives.
Senior ECE
Tammy has enjoyed working with young children from an early age, working with typical and special needs children for 7 years in Coquitlam. In 2012, Tammy received her ECE certification and license to practice from Ridge Meadows College. Her training, combined with her passion to learn from the child, allows her to be a valuable asset to our children and staff team. Tammy values relationships with the children and works hard to foster their potential, setting them up to succeed and be engaged learners.
Tammy’s love of all things creative means that we all enjoy her efforts with the children in the garden and her planning for our annual Teddy Bear’s picnic. Tammy currently lives in Port Coquitlam with her husband and enjoys spending time with her grandson.
